This is what they mean by earthenware: terra cotta hand-painted bowl by an artist we found in the Ourika Valley outside Marrakech. The clay is rich in diverse minerals here, and produces a wide variety of striking color combinations. Strong, simple lines, visible traces of the brush in its rudimentary geometric motifs of muted sienna and sand. (13 1/2" diam.)
